June 16, 2011 - UTI Foundation scholarship recipient named to Phoenix Business Journal Forty Under 40

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. –When the opportunity arose to nominate Universal Technical Institute (UTI) graduate Sarah “Bogi” Lateiner for the highly-regarded Phoenix Business Journal Forty Under 40 list, the UTI Foundation was confident she would make it onto the prestigious list. Indeed, she did. Lateiner was named to the 2011 class of Forty Under 40 and will be honored with her classmates on June 16.

“Bogi has the character and drive to do whatever she wants in life,” said Veronica Meury, executive director and vice president of the UTI Foundation. “She is a testament to the Foundation’s mission of changing the world one life at a time, and we couldn’t be more proud.”

The UTI Foundation always knew there was something special about Lateiner. A graduate of both Oberlin University and UTI, as well as UTI’s challenging and competitive BMW certification program, Lateiner owns her own automotive shop, 180 Degrees Automotive, located in Phoenix. After several years working in prominent BMW dealerships in Manhattan and Scottsdale, Lateiner is drawing on her experience in the field to own and manage an automotive shop with the intention of providing professional and reliable service to her customers.

“The UTI Foundation has helped me pursue my dreams in so many ways,” said Lateiner. “From the opportunity to serve as a role model for female technicians, to now nominating me for the Forty Under 40 list, I am humbled by the honor and feel this recognition will allow me to make an even greater impact in the community.”

In addition to her professional life running 180 Degrees Automotive, Lateiner is an active community member, volunteering with Local First Arizona, the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and the Guerrant Foundation. In fact, Lateiner is currently pursuing 501(c)3 status for a nonprofit she is hoping to launch in the near future.
