Executives from UTI and Pennzoil were on hand to talk about the importance of industry-education partnerships, as well as to award scholarships to outstanding UTI students who are headed into manufacturer-specific advanced training (MSAT)

The event also provided a backdrop to unveil a custom 2015 UTI/Pennzoil Tjin Edition Ford Mustang GT created in partnership with Pennzoil and Neil Tjin, one of the automotive industry’s most influential designers. Heading on a nationwide tour later this month, the Mustang is part of a sweepstakes that will see the car given away to one lucky driver by the end of the year.

More than 900 high school students, some from as far away as Colorado and New Mexico, attended the celebration and open house that featured Monster Jam’s legendary truck Grave Digger and its driver Carl Van Horn. In addition to hearing about the new partnership, students had a chance to tour the campus and learn how UTI helps students harness their passion and prepare them for a career as an automotive or diesel technician.
