December 17, 2014 - Record Number of Employers Attend UTI-Lisle Career Fair

Students at Universal Technical Institute’s (UTI) Lisle campus recently had the chance to meet and interview with 61 industry-leading employers at the school’s October career fair. A record-breaking number of employers came to campus to meet potential new hires.

“Employers from across the Midwest continue to turn to UTI to fill their open service technician jobs because UTI graduates are ready to work and ready to be successful,” said Julie Mueller, campus president for UTI-Lisle. “The transportation industry is thriving, and demand for our graduates is just skyrocketing. That means not just good paying jobs, but great long-term career opportunities for our graduates.”

UTI has training partnerships with more than 30 industry-leading transportation brands, and many of these partners attended the hiring event. Industry participants included representatives from companies like Ford Motor Co., which partner with UTI to provide students with advanced training programs that are specific to their vehicles and technology, as well as other major employers like Associated, CIT Group, Firestone, NationaLease, and Penske.

More than 800 students took advantage of the opportunity to meet with potential employers, and several employees said they made job offers of employment or had booked follow up interviews with UTI students.

“These events help our partners in the industry fill key jobs, and they help our students start their careers,” said Ian Hardie, director of employment services at UTI-Lisle. “It was rewarding that alumni who are now working as service technicians came back to campus for the event and share their experiences from the field with our current students.”

In addition to hosting career fairs, UTI helps students with resume development, interview training, career development classes, and on-campus interview opportunities and employment recruitment assistance.
