February 24, 2015 - Two Universal Technical Institute Houston Students Earn Free Housing

Two students from Universal Technical Institute’s (UTI) Houston  campus have earned a 2014 Collegiate Housing Services (CHS) Scholarship.

Chris Bitetti and Patrick Booth each receive one year of free housing, valued at approximately $5,800, including deposit, rent and utilities, in a furnished apartment close to UTI Houston’s campus. CHS Scholarship recipients are chosen based on a written essay, open-ended questions and high school references.

Originally from Rochester, New York, Chris Bitetti, 20, started at UTI’s Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology (CRRT) program in October 2014. Scheduled to graduate in October 2015, Bitetti is already employed at Baker Nissan as a technician assistant and is grateful for the peace of mind the 2014 CHS Scholarship has provided him.

“I found out I was receiving the scholarship before I actually started class. The sense of security was so nice and made me even more excited about going to school at UTI,” Bitetti says.

Also a CRRT student, Patrick Booth, 25, came to UTI in July 2014. Booth works full time at a nearby grocery store while attending class and is set to graduate in July 2015 and is excited to pursue his dream job of working in a collision shop in his home state of Vermont.

“Chris and Patrick both wrote outstanding essays and our panel really admired their strong work ethic,” Carol Houp, housing director at CHS, says. “Our hope is that helping them with housing costs this year,  will support them in achieving their ultimate career goals.”

A full-service student housing company dedicated to the coordination of all aspects of a college's housing needs, College Housing Services has successfully established partnerships with more than 65 private colleges, universities and national technical schools in more than 20 states. CHS is proud to offer scholarships to all of UTI’s 11 nationwide campuses.
