AURORA, Ill. (April 3, 2015) – Universal Technical Institute (UTI) and  four-time Monster Jam World Finals® champion driver, Dennis Anderson, have announced the winner of the 2015 UTI Grave Digger Scholarship. Anderson selected Tyler Dodd of Tolland, Conn. from among 212 applicants as the recipient of the $20,000 scholarship before Friday night’s racing competition at Sam Boyd Stadium, on March 27. With this scholarship, Dodd can attend any one of UTI’s 10 campuses offering automotive training or eight campuses offering diesel training.

For the last 10 years, the UTI Grave Digger Scholarship has been awarded to individuals seeking a career as a professional automotive, diesel or collision repair technician. Since 2006, 10 students have been awarded this life-changing scholarship. Dodd was chosen by Anderson because of his ambition and passion for the automotive industry.

“Monster Jam fans are extremely passionate about technology, performance and engineering. So, it is a natural fit to partner with Monster Jam, Dennis and Grave Digger to bring this scholarship opportunity to Monster Jam fans.  We are very pleased to help launch Tyler’s dream of building a successful career in the automotive, diesel or collision repair industry through this scholarship,” said Jocelyn Omen, Enthusiast Marketing Manager at UTI.
